          Lion. V.S.D.P.PULLA RAO, Ex-Lions Club President of Vijayawada, dealt in Pharmaceutical Trade from 1952 in Andhra Pradesh as a reputed Manufacturer, Wholesaler and as a Retail Chemist. His activities in the public life range from the President – Lions Club of Vijayawada; President – Y.M.C.A. Vijayawada; Working Committee Member – City Congress, Vijayawada; Joint Secretary – City Congress, Vijayawada; Member – Z.R.U.C.C. (S.C. Railway); Founder Member – Sevaniketanam, Vijayawada; Working Committee Member – Red Cross Society, Vijayawada; Member (Donar) – K.B.N. College, Vijayawada, Master – Masonic Lodge, Vijayawada to Member (Donar) Andhra Ashramam, Benaras.

          Lion. Pulla Rao worked for the Integration of the Andhra Pradesh State with Hon'ble Sri. P.V. Narasimha Rao, the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh in 1972 and when Congress (I) formed, supported and worked in Vijayawada General Elections in 1978. He was an intimate friend of Mr. Asif Pasha, Former Minister for Law and President AIMES, TS and AP State Units.

          Lion. Pulla Rao's straight forwardedness earned him association with the honest leader Dr. Konijeti Rosaiah – Former Finance Minister and the Chief Minister of United Andhra Pradesh and the Governor of Tamil Nadu.

          Lion. Pulla Rao is a man of deed in need and strived his best to serve the weaker sections of the society in all possible ways as and when the opportunity arose. A befitting testimony for this is his active role and travel with Hon'ble Sri. P.V. Narasimha Rao – the then AICC General Secretary (Former Prime Minister of India), Sri. Kodati Rajamallu – Member of Parliament and Smt. Indira Gandhi (Former Prime Minister of India) to contribute to the devastated people of the Diviseema Cyclone (Uppena), Andhra Pradesh.

          His keen interest in serving humanity with honesty and sincerity inspired him to join RSS and this earned him integrity with humanitarian leaders irrespective of the party they belong to such as Jagadambi Prasad Yadav, the Janata Party Leader and the Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare 1977-79 and the Minister of State Commerce and Industry in the Morarji Desai Government and also with Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the then Minister for External Affairs (Former Prime Minister of India).

          Also, as the Hereditary Trustee and being quite pious Mr. Pulla Rao sought to sustain and improve the Bhuvaneswari Sametha Neelakanteswaraswamivaarla Devasthanam, Kotappakonda, Andhra Pradesh.
