Sources of History and Culture of Telugu Speaking People is an extensive voluminous work on the cultural and historical aspects relating to the telugu speaking populace. This work was comprehensively but exclusively carried out by the Andhra Pradesh History Congress. It is an elusive study covering the history of the Telugu speaking people spanning from the proto history period till 2016 A.D. The book was edited by none else than Dr. V. Ramakrishna, Former Head and Professor of History, University of Hyderabad.


A major project was undertaken by the Andhra Pradesh History Congress and this voluminous work is the 9th volume in this series of publication. Amongst all others, this volume occupies inimitable importance as celebrated senior and structured historians of the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana State such as Prof. C. Somasundara Rao, Dr.

K.S. Kameswara Rao, Dr. N.S. Ramachandra Murthy, Dr. V. Ramakrishna Reddy along with a few more accomplished historians contributed their articles in this volume.

This book is first of its' kind on the sources

of history and culture of the Telugu people of the present dual Telugu States of

Andhra Pradesh and Telangana as it throws light on the artistic and architectural marvels, fine arts, folk as well as tribal literary sources. All these are condusively consulted and segmented in 16 chapters.

The peculiar pedagogy of this work is that it places on record not only the details of the sources, but also where they are available, making it convenient to the future researchers and historians to further probe into the sources that are listed and elaborated here.
